In 1982 I developed RSI, I was lent a computer together with a headset and mouthpiece. After the initial revulsion at the idea of using a mouthpiece instead of a mouse, I found one could work perfectly well without hands. The type of marks made by a computer led onto a now visual landscape - more whimsical and quirky. It was a delight to get away for a time from pure representation and instead to work in a more abstract way. I was used to the slower more meditative approach of traditional printing, mixing each colour with precision. One was never sure exactly of what colour would finally emerge from the inkjet printer, and that was all a part of the game.
